Dear Larner Community,
The beginning of the academic year is an exciting time for the Larner College of Medicine as we welcome new graduate students and the medical Class of 2028 and reconnect with our returning students. Our new students bring with them tremendous energy and a wonderous sense of awe. I enjoyed personally connecting with so many at Orientation, the Dean’s Welcome event, and the ever-popular Ice Cream Social. I am hoping the power of these shared experiences lead to a greater sense of belonging and connectedness with the Larner community.
As the landscape of medical education continuously evolves, our college is poised to lead and advance primary and specialty care in Vermont and across the nation. Our academic environment is defined by the quality of our education, clinical programs, and groundbreaking research. From active learning to inclusivity, I am proud of the commitment our faculty and staff make to advancing our missions and the Larner reputation. In the classroom, the lab, the clinic, and the community, they demonstrate professionalism through integrity, accountability, compassion, altruism, and social responsibility—core values of the Larner College of Medicine.
We look forward to supporting the professional and personal growth of our medical and graduate students, faculty, and staff. Our shared vision, partnerships, and research opportunities allow each of us to live up to Dr. Larner’s aspiration for our college to be “second to none.” Best wishes for an academic year filled with continued progress and remarkable achievements in medicine and science.
Best wishes for this new academic year.
Stay well,

Richard L. Page, M.D.
Dean
