A Legacy of Healing: The Belisle Family’s Journey in Medicine

Lisa Belisle, M.D.’96, M.P.H., M.B.A, Ph.D. is a Larner alumnus, physician executive, Medical Director at Ovatient, speaker and writer, podcast host, communication coach and consultant.

In the following blog post, she reflects on the legacy of her father, Dr. Charles “Charlie” Belisle, a 1971 graduate of The Larner College of Medicine, who inspired her own professional journey, as well as two more sisters (Drs. Amy and Adelle Belisle, both UVM medical school graduates), one brother, multiple in-laws, and the author’s son to choose medicine as their profession.

Like Father, Like Son—35 Years Later

Vinh Le completed medical school training with the Class of 2024 at the University of Vermont’s Larner College of Medicine and has been working as a research associate in the lab of Dr. Mary Cushman. His father, Phil Le, M.D. ’90 is a Larner alum, current site director of the Family Medicine residency program at the Coatesville VA Medical Center in Pennsylvania, and Deputy Associate Chief of Staff for Research and Education.
