On Sunday, May 21, 2023 Daniel Castro, M.D.’23, delivered the student address at the Larner College of Medicine Class of 2023 Ceremony. This summer he will begin his residency in Emergency Medicine at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana.
On Sunday, March 22, 2022 Francis Mtuke, M.D.’22, delivered the student address at the Larner College of Medicine Commencement Ceremony. It was the second time he’s given a commencement address; the first time was at his graduation from Texas A&M University in 2017. Dr. Mtuke will be starting his anesthesiology residency program at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington in June.
Health is increasingly recognized as an important lens through which to measure the effects of climate change. Yet, despite years of sobering warnings of this very real threat and the clear human health implications posed by climate change, the medical community has been slow to respond.
