Women Who Made History at Larner & Beyond

In honor of all women who made and continue to make history in the fields of science and medicine and the 2022 theme of Women’s History Month, “Women Providing Healing, Promoting Hope,” we’re highlighting four women who made history as alumni of and chairs and physicians at the UVM College of Medicine (now, the UVM Larner College of Medicine).

Patrick Clarke’s Match Day 2022 Speech: “Building a Community – Medical School During the Time of COVID”

On Friday, March 18, 2022, UVM Larner College of Medicine Class of 2022 medical students celebrated Match Day in the UVM Davis Center’s Grand Maple Ballroom.

As is customary at Larner, the class’s Student Council President, Patrick Clarke, spoke in front of classmates, family, and friends before envelopes containing students’ residency match information were handed out.

Kiana Heredia is a medical student in the Class of 2024 at the UVM Larner College of Medicine. As an undergraduate pre-medical student slogging through basic science courses in physics, chemistry, and more, Heredia found herself questioning her career choice.
